A lucky find! Stained glass tiles by Portland art glass company Uroboros.
The company was founded by glass artist Eric Lovell in 1973. In the late sixties, Lovell had rediscovered the glass-making technique of ring mottle glass, which was invented by Tiffany Studios and lost when it closed in 1928.
Uroboros has long since closed, but the building remains , and now houses Pacific Northwest College of Art.

These can absolutely be used to tile a backsplash! See photo of how I’ll be using for my bathroom backsplash. They are all mostly opaque with deep saturation of color.
